What age group is this program suitable for?
All our programs are mastery-based, which means children of any age is suitable to join our GR Pre-Reading Program. However, we only accept children of 4 years old (calendar year) and above.
My child is 2 years old, can I send her to this program?
We accept children of 4 years old (calendar year) and above for our GR Pre-Reading Program.
Does my child need to know all the letters A-Z to join this program?
No, we will teach your child to recognize all the uppercase (eg. A, B) and lowercase (eg. a, b) letters in our GR Pre-Reading Program.
How long will this program take?
Every child learns at a different pace, and therefore, the duration to complete the GR Pre-Reading Program varies for each child. Generally, your child may take 3 months to 1 year to complete this program, depending on their age, attention span, and prior knowledge.
How long is each session?
One-to-one: The minimum duration for one-to-one sessions is 1 hour per session, and 2 sessions per week.
Group class: The sessions will be conducted for 1.5 hour per session, twice a week.

Do you have group class?
Yes, we offer group class for GR Pre-Reading Program, with a maximum of 5 students in each group.
What happens after my child completed this program?
If your child has mastered all the skills in our GR Pre-Reading Program, he/she can proceed to our Level 1 GR Reading Program. Click here to find out more about our GR Reading Program.

FAQs about GR Reading
How many levels are there?
There are 4 levels in our GR Reading Program. We also have GR Pre-Reading Program for children who need to improve on their fundamental skills before formal reading.
Will there be more levels?
No, the reading program is complete. After Level 4, your child has all of the skills needed to decode just about any English word.
Which level should my child start with?
Please visit our Placement Test page and choose a level to determine the level your child can begin with. If you have additional questions about placement, get in touch with us, we are glad to help!
Does my child need to know all the letters (A–Z) before joining this program?
Yes, prior to joining our GR Reading Program, all the children must be able to recognize all the uppercase and lowercase letters. If your child needs to improve in his/her letter knowledge, you can find out more about our GR Pre-Reading Program.
My child is dyslexic, is this program suitable for him?
Definitely! Our program is very effective for struggling students. The program will help to fill in the missing gaps and build a strong foundation. You can use the placement tests to determine the right level for your child. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

Do you have group class?
Yes, we offer group class for GR Reading Program, with a maximum of 3 students in each group. We keep the number of students low in order to pay as much attention to each student as we can! Get in touch with us to find out more!

I'm enrolling my child into both GR Reading and GR Spelling programs, how is the scheduling like?
If you are enrolling into both our reading and spelling programs, minimum hour per week is 3 hours (one-to-one). You can arrange to come in 2 sessions per week: 1.5-hour & 1.5-hour sessions, or 1-hour & 2-hour sessions; or 3 sessions per week: 1-hour, 1-hour & 1-hour sessions.

How many levels are there?
There are 7 levels in our GR Spelling Program.
Will there be more levels?
No, the spelling program is complete. After Level 7, your child has all of the skills needed to spell just about any English word.
Which level should my child start with?
Our GR Spelling Program is a building block program, where one level builds upon the previous one. In order to build a strong foundation in spelling, we recommend that most students start with Level 1.
Does my child need to know how to write all the letters (A–Z) before joining this program?
Yes, prior to joining our GR Spelling Program, all the children must be able to recognize and write all the uppercase and lowercase letters. If your child needs to improve in his/her letter knowledge and basic writing skills, you can find out more about our GR Pre-Reading Program.
My child is dyslexic, is this program suitable for him?
Absolutely! Our program is very effective for struggling students. The program will help to fill in the missing gaps and build a strong foundation. We suggest your child to start with Level 1, like most of our students, as this program is a building block program, where one level builds upon the previous one.

However, we recommend that your child completes our GR Reading Level 1 or equivalent, and then add in the GR Spelling Level 1. This gives your child a solid start in reading, and strong basis in spelling!

What do we need to bring to the lessons?
For GR Spelling Program, bring along one spiral notebook (or any kind of notebook) to the lessons. Other materials used during the lessons will be provided by us for free!
